Propane powered vehicles are growing in popularity with 300,000 in the United States and over 17 million globally! Here are five reasons to switch your fleet to AmeriGas AutoGas.
#1 Reduced Operating Costs and Increased Maintenance Intervals. Providing less wear and tear on your engine day in and day out means increasing your fleet’s engine life.
#2 More Affordable Fuel Costs. Compared to gasoline, propane autogas offers at least a 40 percent reduction in fuel costs. You can increase your ROI even more (refer to #5 below). Another fun fact is cold weather is not a factor. Propane autogas performs better in cold weather because of propaneβs natural, constant liquid form at cold temperatures, allowing better control of the air-to-fuel ratio required for startup dependability.
#3 Greener/Environmentally Friendly Fuel. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions, carbon monoxide and other harmful emissions.Β Same horsepower, torque, 60 percent less carbon monoxide, and up to 18 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
#4 Domestically Produce. 97% of this fuel is produced in North America. As a functional alternative fuel that represents a sustainable energy solution reducing our dependence on foreign oil.
#5 Incentives, Incentives, Incentives. These financial incentives from federal, state and local programs, help defray near term conversion and/or infrastructure capital expenditures through tax deductions, grants and rebates.
Alternative Fuel Tax Exemption applies to the purchase of propane when it is being used for engine fuel in a vehicle used on a farm for farming purposes; in certain intercity and local buses; in a school bus; exclusive use by a nonprofit educational organization; and exclusive use by a state, political subdivision of a state, or Washington, D.C.
The Department of Energy provides loan guarantees for eligible projects that reduce air pollution and greenhouse gases. It supports early commercial use of advanced technologies, including biofuel and alternative fuel vehicles.

Most states offer incentives to encourage vehicles owners, fleet managers, and other businesses and individuals to adopt vehicles that run on propane autogas.
In total, there are more than 110 incentives offered by states to promote more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient transportation that runs on propane autogas. Incentives may include grant programs, loan programs, leasing programs, tax incentives and credits, rebate programs, and exemptions.
