Propane: A Year Round Energy

When can you use propane to enhance your quality of living? The real question is, when can’t you?!

Winter is the season most of us think about propane as many associate propane with heat. Whether your home uses this energy for heating with their furnace or more specifically with appliances such as a gas cook range, fireplace or clothes dryer, propane can be found useful throughout your home or business. If you’re out and about skating at your local ice rink, you may notice the Zamboni/ice resurfacer that refreshes the ice uses propane to operate.

Spring is when many landscaping companies begin their busy season. Many are converting their mower fleet to propane powered lawnmowers, proving not only more green for the environment, but also for their return on investment. Above the ground and in the air you may see a hot air balloons floating, all thanks to propane. Hot air balloon pilots can control their ascent and descent by heating more air with β€œburners” or slowly releasing air allowing the heated air to cool off or by using a variety of vents located in strategic points on the envelope vent out the hot air.

Summer is the most popular grilling season. To help assist in the enjoyment of your backyard, propane can heat your pool and spas as well as many outdoor kitchen needs.

Fall is the transition into cooler temperatures, but that doesn’t mean you can’t extend your outdoors fun. Whether for your home’s backyard or for a restaurant’s outdoor seating area, with propane fire pits and patio heaters, you can entertain your guests or customers with the combination of outside ambiance while staying warm and comfortable.

Year round, there are countless propane applications being utilized including vehicles that run on propane autogas. More specifically, school buses, commercial fleets, government fleets, taxis and limousines. Business using forklifts, and homeowners using propane powered appliances such as water heaters are also great examples of year round propane applications.
